1 Corinthians 2:1-5 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.
In the beginning of 1 Corinthians 2, Paul is telling the Corinthians that he gets all his power from God. It is all spiritual power, not earthly power. Paul was not gifted with speech, he wasn't very good at speaking to the public, but was confident and still he preached the word of God to all people. Paul knew that it was God's will for him to be used to share the Gospel, but believed God would help him with the details.
Some interpret Philippians 4:13 as an "I can do anything because I have God" but if you look at the verses before, it has a completely different message.
Philippians 4:10-12 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
Now, the message is "even in the worst of times and I feel like giving up, I can still accomplish God's will when all odds are against me." God will always be here with us and will do anything for us and will always forgive us, but that does't mean we can still sin purposely and believe he will forgive us. He will but that is not what God's forgiveness. God's grace is for mistakes not ignorance. This concept of grace for mistakes is what the whole book of 1 Corinthians is about; Ignorance in the church. We are the body of Christ.
If you are holding back from your full potential because you think that you are not good enough or because you cannot accomplish what God has planned, let all those ideas go. He will equip you with the skills He knows you will need. He chose you for this role. He knows you can. You don't have to do it all alone because He will go it all with you. You don't have to face the trials alone. He will be there. Just look what He could do with a sinner like Paul. He can turn black into a bright light that can set the world ablaze with love. Just let him use you for what He has planned. Wonderful and bright things. He will use you to save others and inspire others. Just let go and believe.
